Training for assessment of sensitivity of the community to natural and other disasters
CRP provides to the communities a technical support in assessment of the community’s sensitivity to natural and other disasters.
Assessment of the community’s sensitivity to natural and other disasters means that community understands the needs in the segment of management of risks from disasters. Local communities are introduced with relation between disaster and development, as well as various elements of management of risks from disasters.
The purpose of the assessment of community’s sensitivity to natural and other disasters is to define the guidelines for reduction of risks, in order to develop and strengthen the security and protection of people and material assets from natural or other disasters.
The following principles are used in assessment of exposure to risks:
a) overall risk principle, in fact integration of all risks, including those in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as those with cross-border effects;
b) compatibility principle, in fact compliance principle of assessment with guidelines, directives and other documents of the United Nations and the European Union.
