On Saturday, 22.04.2017 in the National park Kozara on the Earth Day „BIH GREEN AWARDS“ 2017 were awarded. The manifestation itself was organised by the US Embassy in BiH, National park “Kozara” and Centre for Development and Support (CRP) Tuzla.
The US Ambassador in BiH Maureen Cormack handed the awards and recognitions to the winners of the campaign and said that: „It has been a great pleasure for the US Embassy in BiH to work with the citizens of BiH, with civil society and they were the ones who selected this year the best stakeholders in this segment. Outstanding sign of citizens’ commitment and their opinion that this is an important issue is that over 12.000 people voted within the poll we organised and implemented to get those five winners“.

In the category: cities/municipalities: Čapljina municipality.
The slogan of Čapljina municipality is: „Čapljina, the flower of Herzegovina“. Numerous preserved alleys, large grassed areas, as well as several squares and parks in Čapljina contribute to the epithet of a real small green oasis in Herzegovina rocks. Čapljina intensively promotes among its citizens the principles of environment protection and creates better living environment within its local community.

In the category: company/business: fruit plantation Baš-Bašča from Breza
The plantation spreads on about 1000 dunum of land, with about 11.000 different fruit trees planted on it. Fruit is treated only and exclusively organically, so the plantation is certified for organic production. The business is registered in BiH and it operates in environmentally friendly way, without violating the environment.

In the category: organisations/NGO/foundations: Centar za životnu sredinu Banja Luka / Environment Centre Banja Luka .
“Centar za životnu sredinu” is the organization that in an argumented manner and actively influences the relevant public policies, raises the environmental awareness and achieves constructive cooperation with association, networks, international organisations and other interested groups and individuals. Programme areas of the organisation’s work are: biodiversity and protected areas, energy and climate changes, and transport.

In the category: citizens to 30: Marija Ninković from Trebinje
Very active in the Centre for Sustainable Development and Ecology Trebinje. She advocates and promotes environment protection, particularly protection of rivers and tributaries as significant water resource in BiH. Though very young, she has successfully implemented numerous environmental projects and initiatives.

In the category: citizens over 30: Slobodanka Pavlović Banja Luka.
Slobodanka has a PhD in environment protection and she selflessly transfers her knowledge to the students at the faculty. She is the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Management, the Independent University of Banjka Luka. She designed, organised and implemented the traditional action „Decorate with waste and save the Planet“ aiming to educate children, parents and school staff about importance of environment protection.
